We use cash for the following:The monthly Farmers Market (the stalls only take cash)The local honey producerMy husband's Tai Chi class (£10 for two sessions, cash only)My husbands Parkinson's Support Group (they have a raffle, the proceeds go towards hire of room)Small purchases, e.g. a packet of Polo mints where it really would be silly to put it on a cardCharity shop purchases which again, tend to be small amountsThe very rare occasions my husband persuades me to visit the pub - there's something just wrong about paying for a "swift half" with a card!I also keep a £1 coin aside for the supermarket trolleyI do therapeutic work as a dog-sitter, and clients often pay in cash - it's quoted on the website as being preferred; but once I know a client, I do offer them the option of paying by bank transfer. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

I have made a conscious effort to use cash more since the pandemic. It's vital we keep cash available for those who rely on it. There is also the privacy issue, who wants all their transactions recorded? My monthly bank statement has reduced from six pages to two, so saving trees too!2

I use cash for weekly supermarket shop/fresh fruit from market and go to car boots every weekend and buy anything/everything needed/useful/wanted and save by doing so. absolutely vital cash remains. also agree with Pete that there should be concern over the increasingly pervasive desire by Co,s to data harvest/mine etc even when not reqd for purchase. all the best. mel1

Lot of smaller community events, car boots, village/school fetes, fundraising events are still cash only. I don't like to use pay by phone, so unless a car parking machine takes cards, then we still use cash for those. Phone signal in some areas is too patchy to rely on."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0

I’ve not carried much cash with me since I was mugged, at least you can stop your cards. If I go somewhere that will only take cash then I just withdraw the amount of cash that I need for that purpose.0

I pay by credit card or online banking for almost everything. It's a cashback card which I pay off in full every month, so I make money while spending.Cash now is normally only for making a donation at local church coffee mornings, or a tip to my hairdresser, though I do keep a small amount in reserve in case of unexpected need.0

I answered a question about my age group on the poll yet can't see anything in the results. The most important thing for me is knowing how many others in my age group like me hardly use cash0
