Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry underfoot but cloudy.. Wash load ready to peg out.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was pork loins, new potatoes, veg and gravy. Tonight will be fish.
Work wasn't too bad, we'll see what today brings.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all, thanks for the thread nmlc.
I'm off to the London office today. I have all my food and snacks packed plus some teabags which I can now leave in the office as I have a locker whoohoo!
Dinner tonight is SW sausage, courgette and pea risotto - DH on cooking duty tonight.
Had a phone call with the nurse about my cholesterol - it's 5.5 so only slightly raised. Given the test was less than a week after my holiday, she thinks it's a blip and has said to have another blood test in 4 months time to double check it's gone back to normal levels.
We painted the stair triangles, newel posts and spindles last night with primer/undercoat. Now for two coats of satinwood. It's soul destroying but much cheaper than getting someone in. More painting tonight and tomorrow then it's 'just' the four downstairs panelled doors to do plus the skirting board. Those will be next weeks' entertainment.
We are already missing the CWG highlights. DH and DD watched Zodiac last night - good film, but I was pooped so had an early night.
Hugs to all those struggling x

Morning All
A little overcast this morning but we're due another nice day. Washing on the line, not much today. All yesterday's laundry dried, folded and put away.
DD and I went to a little shop yesterday that sells food from supermarkets that's nearing it's sell by date or is the end of line, I got quite a few items and only paid £1.30, certainly worth going to.
Walked to the post office in the afternoon past some houses that were having insulation put on the outside. I stopped to chat to a chap working there who said all the offcuts would be going in the bin and could I use any so I went home and took the car to fill up with pieces they didn't want and cut them to fit between the joists in the cellar so the kitchen floor should be warmer this winter. The pieces are cut from polystyrene board so light and easy to work with. Could do with another load so will go again today and see if they have any more. I quite enjoyed making all the pieces fit, it's not a pretty job but should make a difference and it was free!
I'll visit the allotment this morning and perhaps go for a swim, it'll be salad for lunch as I have lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber in the greenhouse.
Hope everyone's well and you like your new haircut Izzy. Take care. XX9 -
Morning everyone well the hair is back to short I was on a bit of a downer at the weekend I had tried my dress on it fit but I am the same weight as I was 3 years ago when they announced this wedding put my shoes on then when I put the fascinator on it just looked horrible so mis matched it didn’t go at all my friend lent me it and it’s lovely but just didn’t look nice on so I was full of hell when I went to get my haircut I was telling the girl and complaining I will be the fastest person there my hair looks like a Lego figure nothing matches I’m fed up will just have to put on a brave face and smile throughout it and she had a draw of fascinators and she said that one will match you can borrow it when I brought it home it went perfect so I’m a lot happier I will still look like a ship in full sail but I’ve left that to late now . I sat last night and read up about under active thyroid and watched some you tube but I’m doing everything you are supposed to but unless I am super strict every day I can’t lose a ounce so after the wedding I am going to start again 1000 calories and no treats anyway enough of my moaning please feel free to ignore me I must get on off to work back in at 5 it’s going to be a warm one .thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Wall to wall sunshine forecast for today. Woohoo! Although yesterday was quite cloudy it was very warm and all my washing was dry in record time. And what there was to iron even got done as well! And the plants all got watered too. As I'm hosing I have the £ signs going round in my eyes but needs must.!
Fingers crossed for no last minute cancellation today! It's the much postponed coffee then lunch meet with BFF. A text a little while ago told me she was feeling fine but these blooming side effects can hit her at a minute's notice. She's got a second wig to show off today, on the selfie she sent it looks lovely.
IZZY I hope your hair cut was how you wanted it. Sometimes hairdressers think they know best and just do what they want! Grr. Like TAFF I like to keep mine short too, life's too short for faffing about. A quick work through with some wax usually sorts it out. But saying that mine is due another trim as it's getting a bit out of hand. It got a colour at the w/e in readiness.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or fed up. NELS life is hard for you just now, thinking of you. Take care one and all and be safe xx
Cross posting IZZY. Glad you feel happier today, it's horrible when one of those moods strikes when nothing feels right. x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning folks.I'm back home 😀 the drive home was good, fast on the motorway and slower for the rest. I stopped at a few places in Glasgow to do some shopping so my fridge is full again. I really enjoyed my wee road trip though glad to be here.Today is rather dull though there's the promise of sun tomorrow, think I'll hold back on doing a washing load until then. I've got a load of emails to write and my gardener is coming this afternoon, she'll plant the new rose. Now I need to do some serious sorting out of my holiday stuff. It's all a bit of a muddle on the spare bed just now.Coxy - congrats on the locker 😀
Camelot - you're so enterprising!Nelski - where I live is so beautiful, thanks. I really appreciate being here, even in deepest darkest, coldest and wettest winter.I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Tuesday to all.10 -
Morning all, yep, it's sunny. And today I am throwing propriety to the wind and exposing my feet and hands to someone who will file them and do all sorts so I can wear sandals with pride...I don't think she can do much with the fingernails being as I ripped quite a lot of them off last week ish. I finished sewing my top, such an easy pattern to follow [ eventually, after i realised one piece was the wrong way round]. I'm so pleased with it, it looks a bit funky, the fabric is fantastic [ african wax fabric] and I will be making more with some minor changes here and there. Well done Boho Banjo for the pattern! Friends say why don't you go on the Sewing Bee? And I reply, well, it'll take me two hours to get my head round something during which time everyone else will have finished what they're doing...I have a little pile of fabrics I gathered together of things I can patchwork together so that's my fun over the next few weeks. As well as trying to organise anything else I haven't organised yet. Which reminds me, my ebay special pop up privacy tent has arrived and caused much hilarity throwing it up and trying to squish it back down again but whoever invented those things deserves a medal too [and whoever invented automatic needle threaders, genius!]Anyway, less ramble...Izzy, I'm glad you feel better about stuff, you will look lovely, it will all go swimmingly. I hate to say this but it might just be age that's the difficulty, I'm finding it very slow going...Nels, hang in there, nearly finished! Hopefully...Coxy, good news then! huzzah! to the locker and the choloesterol...Camelot, sneaky sneaky super sneaky! Love it! Well done thrifty one! TA, hope your friend can make it today. Gers, not many people can say that you are very lucky, but then, I also expect you made your own luck
snoozer, I'm afraid I do that to OH, he gets exasperated , hands me his phone and says, here, you read what they said then...
Shout out to the holiday makers, the missing and the unwell...

Hi everyone,
The living room is chaos atm, B, L and E are back and Esben is rediscovering toys he hasn't seen for 10 days. Anyway he's now at Nursery so I can tidy them away for a few hours. They were very late back but he slept most of the way back so hopefully he won't be too tired.
It's another scorcher here so I shall be staying in most of the day unless Crystal wants me to go across to help tidy the house because they have booked a deep clean for tomorrow before the baby comes. She finished work yesterday so she can relax now.
Izzy, I know how you feel, I have an underactive thyroid as well and it is so difficult to lose weight. I yoyo up and down by a stone every six months or so but I need to lose at least another couple, I just lose the will.
Have a good day.

Afternoon all, MIA due to much minding of DGC over weekend & DGS yesterday. He sent me a message on his Mums phone asking me to help with a holiday project for school - no problem I said. His SDad dropped him and said he'd been upset about doing it as it is meant to be in video form so I said I'd get to the bottom of it & it turned out he didnt want to speak on it so I said what about photos, so he chose some, so did his Mum, and what he wanted to say about himself, and my clever nearly 11yr old DGD has put it together with captions. He's happy again now. We went to join his SD and 2 younger sibs on the park for a bit, then walked back. DS popped over in his lunch break to see him. I'm having him again tomorrow, & no doubt DGD will join us at some point! At least I feel usefulIzzy- hope you're feeling a bit happier with your hair now. I've been in town today looking at hair accesories for Saturdays wedding, and got some tops in the sale at M/S. Some ys meat too for tonight. I've got my meter IHD out to check how much my new small appliances are costing to run for comparison and noting it down.Right I shall wish you all a good day- what's left of it
take care xx
