Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry underfoot but cloudy.. Wash load ready to peg out.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast chicken, no LO's. Tonight not sure what we'll be having.
Back to work - will see what happens - last week we had alot of staff sickness - we'll see what happens this week.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks for starting us off nmlc.Another bright morning. I could get used to this.Yesterday the trip to Ushaw was really interesting, a big old place hidden away with at least two Pugin designed spaces. Floss, I hope your brother was happy there. The only disappointment was the refectory staff though all the volunteers were cheery and helpful. As a person with no religious allegiance or faith I still find the interior of churches (etc) fascinating and glorious. There was a music festival being held in the next field and the college was having a pirates day. 😀❤️ We came home via a small garden nursery in Pity Me where we picked up some rose bushes - I wanted a climber so got a vigorous one.In the early evening we went to a fabulous little Italian restaurant (on Heaton Road if you know the area) where I had the best ever carbonara made the proper way - no cream! It was so delicious I could have eaten two bowls of it...but didn't.Then my friends drove me around for a while, showing me all the huge changes to the area, especially the North Shields Fish Quay. So many tiny flats chucked up, at least two lovely old pubs closed down (old and new Wooden Dolly) and still work going on. Anyway, I enjoyed the drive through my old life.Today I'm heading off after breakfast, it's a five hour drive to home and I'll stop in Glasgow for some shopping.I'll catch up on the news here properly once I'm back, meanwhile I hope that everyone is doing at least OK. Happy holidays to anyone setting off today. And a happy Monday to all.11

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. So far it's very warm but cloudy with sun forecast later. I think I need to water all the pots today before we are clobbered with a hosepipe ban up here, they are looking very dry.
Well I seem to have slept off my self inflicted fragility of yesterday so after a day of sloth jobs await for today. The wm is currently doing it's thing full of towels and bath mats, then there is a white wash to go in. The lines will be full. I did have 3 lines but the sackless son of the window cleaner managed to get his ladder entangled in the 3rd and snapped in. No apology forthcoming but no surprise there as it's not the first thing he has wrecked! That lad is a liability. And he doesn't make a very good job of cleaning the lower windows either (dad does the upstairs as he probably doesn't trust him up a ladder!)
No idea what's on the menu for today, I need to go out and do a freezer dive next and see what appeals.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or fed up. NAN I may have left this a bit late but have a lovely time away. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -

Morning all,
Thanks for the start @nmlc and hope you have more staff this week!
A bright sunny start here. I will water the pots shortly - we too are due a hosepipe ban from Friday. I only have a few pots luckily and wouldn't be watering my lawn (unlike my neighbour with her sprinkler.....).
Dinner tonight is YS meatballs with spaghetti in arrabbiata sauce. I will just have the spaghetti and sauce. Nurse appointment later re: my cholesterol so we shall see what she says. I will cook some low fat sausages in the oven at the same time as the meatballs and these will be for sausage, courgette and pea risotto tomorrow night. Will also do some egg, mushroom and ham muffins at the same time. Trying to use the oven as little as possible.
Hope you have a lovely break @nannywindow
Safe journey home @Gers
Big hugs for @Nelski and anyone else struggling
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Morning All
Nice bright morning but the sun isn't shining yet. One load of white washing has just been pegged out, the bedding has now gone in. I'll do my pjs and dressing gown once the WM has finished. Ironing done, just a few bits so didn't take long.
Lots of cleaning yesterday afternoon, the house is feeling like my own again after all the visitors. It's the last week of my holidays so will be pottering about pleasing myself this week.
My broadband contract is nearly up, I have a really slow connection speed so I phoned and will be getting superfast broadband with a new router for £2 more per month, should be able to watch a film now without the dreaded buffering. Also contacted the hosepipe company, I had an expanding one that split last year, still under guarantee so they replaced it. Sadly the new one has also split so hoping for another replacement. I'm using a standard hose at the moment but it's quite cumbersome and doesn't store tidily.
Sounds like you've had a good weekend Gers, safe journey home.
Happy haircut day Izzy, glad you had a relaxing day yesterday.
Not much planned for today but it will involve a walk somewhere. Happy Monday, take care. XX

Morning..Sunny, all windows and curtains currently closed..No appointments or things to be one today so I'll crack on with sewing the top. I pinnned and cut it yesterday and it looks pretty straightforward to jumble together so fingers crossed. Plus it has top stitching and I do love a bit of topstitching
Other than that I have the stuff to go to organise, we're tripping over things left right and center, and my list of to do's and to takes is getting longer every time I look at it. Went diet hay wire at the weekend so back on it today with the usual cottage cheese omlette for breakfast, probably some form of ramen for supper.
Izzy, with you on the length, I find it's just so much easier to look fater, no faffing with scrunching in stuff to make it curly, or spray or anything, bit of wax to make it look messy and it's good to go. Gers, your trip sounds lovely, nothing like a bit of gallivanting to perk you upCoxy, good luck with your nurse. watch out for too much sun folks...take care..

Morning
Decided to stay here today instead of the dreaded trip to the house. I know time is ticking but I have lots to do here as well including some housekeeping and a ton of admin. Will go tomorrow instead. Don't want to be too far from mum either as she was still feeling bad yesterday. The home are keeping a good eye on her eating and drinking but she now seems to have a chest infection. I'll speak to them today and see if the GP has been. I did consider the dreaded Covid but I know they will be thinking that too so will be testing. Bought some myself some tests yesterday as I was feeling pretty grim myself. Think thats more sleep deprivation though. fingers crossed for negative
Chucked a wash on this morning and will make a start on some tidying soon
Gers I watched a cruise programme last night (lol I can dream) It was a trip around the Hebrides starting in Oban. What a beautiful area you live in. It was a Jane McDonald one if anyone wanted to drool Channel5 I think
Have a lovely day all11 -
Hi everyone,
I had the lazy day I promised yesterday (just the three loads of washing!) and went to bed early. I need to get myself going today - L, B and E return tonight so I need to menu plan and shop.
Steve has already annoyed me this morning. He has a habit of asking me questions when I have no possibility of knowing the answer (usually about other people's plans), it's irritating at the best of times but this morning he asked the same question in 5 different ways when I had already told him I didn't know, grrr.
It's going to be another hot one but how I long for some rain to make the grass green again instead of brown and crunchy, it's supposed to go up into the thirties later this week again and I'm not looking forward to it.
Have a good day.11
