Good morning, it's a bright start here, yesterday was quite warm, I got some washing dry.
Hope you had a good journey to Newcastle Gers, have a great time with your friends.
TA my DD is a last minute person, yet she hates last minute plans being thrust on her!! You must be so proud of your girls, glad you enjoyed the show.
Did you enjoy your Abba fest Nels, hope you got some lovely cake.
Enjoy your caravan holiday Nanny, fingers crossed you get some decent weather.
We had an ok day yesterday, visited a friend in hospital in the afternoon, the rest of the day was just general household stuff. Today I need a small amount of shopping, might go to T*sco for a change. The garden needs a tidy, thhat can be done this morning, it's only a small garden.
Hope you are recovering Mehefin, also thinking of others who aren't very well.
Take care folks.

Morning from Newcastle - and thanks for starting us off Scarlet. The drive down from Glasgow was surprisingly easy until I reached Newcastle. There have been so many road changes and new developments that I was a tad confused. It's been nine years since I moved away so it's to be expected I suppose. Anyway, I found a 'new' M&S food hall in Gosforth so I bought flowers and wine for my hosts. We spent a very pleasant evening chatting and watching the diving and hockey. Today I think we're going to Ushaw House in Durham and then eating out.Nelski - did you have a good time singing? And did your mum enjoy it?
I hope that everyone is doing fine. Happy Saturday to all.11 -
Gers had to pop back you will not be far from me enjoy Ushaw house it’s lovely10

Morning Scarlett and everyone still snoozing (I'm very jealous)
ABBA day was a mixed bag. Singer was very good and had us all singing along.
Unfortunately mum was not feeling well and really not herself. On investigation she has another UTI and is back on antibiotic. They make her even more confused. She said they tried to force drugs into her and she did her best not to swallow them I despair. At this rate she will be heading back to hospital.
On a positive I managed to get some tea and a cream scone down her but she clearly wouldn't have bothered so we are back to her not eating or drinking enough. Hopefully they can get enough drugs down her to clear the infection.
I bought some carrot cake for home but had no appetite so I'll have it later.
Very little sleep as my brain is working overtime now!
Hope everyone has a better day than me

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Another lovely start but I suppose that dratted wind will be back at some point.
No plans for today thank goodness as I am feeling a bit fragile after the family get-together for DGDs birthday! We were in the garden until the last hour when it got decidedly chilly and we retreated indoors. By then most of the family had gone, especially those with littlies. The new garden furniture looked lovely under the gazebo.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and fed up. NELS I hope the home manage to get DM's anti b's in her, as well as much needed nourishment. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning all, we have the lovely sunny weather here so the bed has been stripped and the bedding is in the wm. I rang Dad last night as I usually do and he wanted to know why I was ringing him at lunchtime, it was 7pm 😯 It's not the first time he's been confused so DD will keep an eye on him while we are away plus I will still ring him as I normally do.
Today I want to clean through upstairs, give the bathroom a good scrub and re-make the bed. I'll pick the last of the blackberries, any more will have to be left to the birds. There are a few more bits and bobs to do then I'm done for today. However there are a few last minute things to pack into the car tomorrow morning to transfer to the van, then we're away for 2 weeks.
Nels hugs to you and Mum, hope the anti's work quickly and it's not a trip to the hospital.
Hope everyone keeps safe and well.
Take care and hugs to all in need.

Hi everyone,
Nelski, best wishes for a speedy recovery for your mum.
Gers, enjoy your trip out and Nanny, your trip away.
We spent the day at C and C's with her parents and one of her sisters and partner on a working party doing a few things around the house. We might go back today if they want us, but they might want a quiet day.
If not we will have a quiet day here. The garden is looking very parched but most of it will recover, it's south facing so most of the plants have to be used to dry conditions anyway. I need to do some ironing though because I've used up all my linen clothes and I've got a feeling I will need them this week.
I remembered it's our wedding anniversary on Thursday - 43 years. Steve was asking what I wanted to do but I told him nothing at the moment. We had a lovely meal out on Wednesday so I think that will do us.
Have a good day.9 -
Morning all. Have a hospital appointment today for the hopefully last infusion, yesterdays appointment was a bit of a shock. Had an echocardiogram, the girl said result was heart failure, although people get scared when you say that so she calls it reduced pumping function. Thee's an outside chance it may be worng and there are pills and potions etc for it if it is and there are different stages etc but it did prey on my mind all yesterday. Chemo is the gift that keeps giving, but on the plus side, I'd be dead by now if I hadn't had it....swings and roundabouts innit. So I will be cutting out some cloth for a new top today, I am umming and aahing about using my new spanking cloth because it's lovely and what if I don't like the pattern when it's made, but there should be some left over for a top I really want to make after if I can get my head around a pattern draft for it.Nels, there was a guy who invented these things called Jelly Drops specifically for those with memory problems, they look like sweets but are mostly water and electrolytes, can the care home get hold of any? Hope her UTI goes quickly...nanny, have a fab holiday. TA, glad the garden furniture was worth the hassle of building
Look after yourself folks...

Afternoon All
Late one from me today, I had the little one overnight and have just taken her back. She was as good as gold and apart from an unsettled hour about 2am she slept well.
It's a strange day here weatherwise, it's very warm with sunny spells and is drizzly at the same time. Not a day to put the washing out so that can wait until tomorrow.
Hope your DM makes a swift recovery Nelski and you get some rest.
Glad the party was a success TA.
Have a great holiday Nanny.
Oh taff, that's a shock, hope you can be given medication.
I'm in the middle of cleaning downstairs, presently waiting for the floor to dry before I put the furniture back. The little was playing with dried rice and pasta in the kitchen, there's rice everywhere - even in the downstairs bathroom!
Happy Sunday, take care. XX7
