Is this unusually slow or fairly normal?

It’s taken 9 months to get to the point of having comfirmation that my LGPS transfer to my SIPP (  under £10k before anyone gets excited)  is going ahead.
I had my cetv early November last year and started the ball rolling.
My LGPS said they’d sent out paperwork to HL 3 times and HL said they hadn’t received it,  when I asked them to send it to me and I’d forward it on, HL acknowleged receipt within 2 days 🙄
They’ve obviously had to recalculate the value as it went over the 6 month point so at least it looks like I haven’t lost out due to their snail like pace.

  • Your LGPS administrator will be able to confirm to you the exact times the documents were printed/emailed. There is no point in them lying.

Assuming the CETV has gone up rather than down? If it's gone down, then worth complaining and asking for the original quote to be honoured if you are sure the LGPS administrators are at fault.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

It can’t have gone down thankfully,  they would have had to send me new paperwork to sign if it had .

What were you planning to purchase in the SIPP?  Almost everything is cheaper now that it was in Nov 2022.  No excuse for the delays, but presuming things now move more quickly, hopefully at least you won't be buying at a higher price.

Nothing,  it’s staying in cash.  I might have need of it next year

I hope it is worth it, considering how extremely poor value LGPS CETV tend to be!
