Had another quote in, so now it's:

    Installer 1 (£6870)

    8x Canadian Solar 380W for 3.04kW 4x SE roof 4x NE roof

    + £600 for 5x SE roof and 3x SW roof (£7470)

    Sunsync 3.6kW inverter

    No optimisers

    Installer 2 (£5995)

    8x JA Solar 385W for 3.08kW

    Solis Inverter

    No formal proposal

    Installer 3 £8433 (£6333)

    9x JA Solar 405W for 3.64kW (6x SE roof 3x SW roof)

    9x Tigo Optimisers

    Lux Hybrid 3.6kW inverter

    Includes £2.1k for 4.8kW battery.

    (NEW) Installer 4 £6577

8x Sharp 400W All black half cell for 3.2kW

    Solax X1 Boost

Then there's Screwdriva's referral for ~£5800, bearing QrizB's comment in mind.

One thing to consider is the inverter warranty duration (and quality) - last thing anyone needs is to worry about an aging system in a few years.

    -  Viessmann 200-W on Advanced Weather Comp. (the most efficient gas boiler sold)

On the topic of waranties, how do they work? Does the manufacturer send someone to fix it if they break?

Welcome to these forums and to PV rooftop solar! Where are you located?

Both your quotes appear to be sub optimal from a spec and price standpoint to me. Have you specifically asked for a battery? If so, are you a heavy nighttime appliance user?

    If not, I would suggest:

    1) saving as much installation costs upfront and skipping the battery

    2) selecting known brands from established component suppliers that have better aftersales support.

    3) Selling hour excess energy to the grid, making it act as a “battery” for you.

This is why I recommended the 10X 400W Sharp panels & the SolarEdge inverter.

£5750 installed with a 25 year warranty on everything.

    Hi and thank you.
I'm on the south east coast, Kent.
Don't think I'm a heavy night time user but thought with the increase in energy prices I could use electricity to heat the room I use most.
Didn't think they paid much for the energy you send to the grid so thought a battery would be useful.
Can anyone suggest a company in my area?
    Thank you.

Regardless of which company you choose to go with I would make sure you double check their accreditation directly with the accreditation body.

I have no formal affiliation with them. I've stayed in touch with them since they installed my system 2.5 years ago, as they are one of the few installers that offer non-Chinese panels and inverters for a price that's really hard to beat.

I don't hold a gun to anyone's head when it comes to asking for a quote or giving one. But if I can leverage my relationship to help someone get PV, I'm happy to!  ;)
