Class2 or Class3

Future Pensions have identified 3 years l can buy to top up my pension 2006 -2009. I was self employed at the time. Should I be paying at Class 2 or Class 3 rate? I can’t find the answer on any Govt we site. FP says Class2 but HMRC says Class3 Which is correct?

I have read the Royal London Guide and the Money Saving Guide again and they both say that the self employed pay to top up at the Voluntary self employed rate or Class 2. So I will write to HMRC and request clarification. I have plenty of time before the window closes.
