A "haybox" works on the same principle but may be easier and cheaper to DIY at home.
Box (picnic coolers suggested but anything will work), filled with insulating material (such as bathroom towels, jumpers and the like) and space for your lidded pot. Cover pot with more insulation and close box.

Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)1 -

Memory Girl set up a new blog for a bit though she’s mainly on Facebook now. But you can still get the tutorial

It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!1 -
If you use Facebook I have a group about using and making thermal cookers. I've collated links to patterns and tutorials in the Guides section. But you can also wrap your pot in an old duvet/sleeping bag etc as an alternative https://www.facebook.com/groups/1079137036292707/?ref=share2

I used my DDs toy box back in the 1970s and it worked very well, I may start using it again as the winter draws on. Back in the late 1960s my neighbour gave it to me for the children to use as a toy box .
It was her husbands apprentice piece he had made when he first started work pre WW2 and she said she didn't use it anymore .I still have it in my house, and I keep my wool stash in it at the moment. Back then I used an old duvet and some oillows for insulation and it worked fine
