Retrofit solar I Boost quote

I have had a quote to fit a solar i boost to my existing PV system of £800. Is this a "we don't really want to do this" price?
It was my understanding that the i boost is cheaper than the Eddi, but have I got that wrong?
Do people on here have a preference for either? If so, why?
Thanks

I have this on my system installed it in 2014 very good, will then just need a electrician to fit took about one hour to install.

It comes off a perfectly normal spur which currently will be connected to your immersion. So it is a small job. Price is too high ad suggests someone who doesn't want to take time off from golf.

It should be cheaper than an eddi.
Eddi's are in back order atm.
If you are looking to heat two elements sequentially then you will need either an iboost or an eddi I believe, but if you are only planning on heating one, then something like a solic 200, which will be a fair bit cheaperWest central Scotland

Just the one heating element.
Thank you all for your input. I'll be off to find myself an electrician.4.3kW PV, 3.6kW inverter. Octopus Agile import, gas Tracker. Zoe. Ripple x 3. Cheshire1 -

on the solarimersion you can utilize the relay for a second element0
-
some have top and side elements
so can use one if you want sink of hot water to do washing up, or full tank for bath
I have diverted my second feed to a heated towel rail but will will change this to feed a 700 wat convector heater for use in spring and autumn. I'm on a feed in tariff so have slightly different priorities0 -
like this picture here. or you could have a dedicated socket for a resistive load eg oil filled radiator on the second relay.
