I'm traveling to Lanzarote 18-30 aug 2022, my daughter's 5 year passport has an issue date of 22.11.17 & expires 22.8.23 ...... Do I need to renew it before we travel? I can't find anything online for child's passport info?

Frustrating, my understanding is it has not exceed 10 years ( which a child's obviously doesn't) and has to have 3 months left on it which it does so my thoughts are it is fine ?0

I'll just paste my answer to a similar question that you could have seen lower on this page..:She'll be perfectly ok, the EU 10-year rule does not apply to 5-year passports, hers is valid everywhere until the expiry date shown.(Edit - I've assumed that she will be returning at least three months prior to expiry date.)
If you hold a British Passport, for EU travel it must meet two requirements. It must be:
- less than 10 years old on the day you enter (check the date of issue)
- valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave (check the expiry date)

When i went to renew my 2 daughters passports using the 1 week fast track in Peterborough one of their passports expiry date was different to the issue date ie more than 5 years. The lady said the expiry date was wrong and expired 5 years form issue date irrespective what the passport says. Something about in the past they added on extra time if renewing early which they don't do now.
In your case i think you will be fine.0 -

It's an EU restriction, (excess validity of British passports was tolerated until Brexit), and doesn't apply elsewhere.Or am I the one who's mistaken..?Evolution, not revolution0

I have the same issue and am due to travel soon. The start date of my children’s passports are February and March 2017. Their expiring dates are February and March 2023.I understand the rule about adult passports not exceeding 10 years. I cannot find anywhere that states that a child passport cannot exceed 5 years. Therefore are we ok that they are both less than 10 years old and have 3 months left on them when we return? (This is the FCO advice and all I can find on the TUI website)I have previously contacted the passport office and searched online about this and couldn’t find anything specifically about children.0

Even if these dates are not mistaken and your children have been issued six-year passports (!) their validity does not exceed ten years and the EU restriction will not apply. See the advice given above.
