5.1 sound system for dvd home cinema?

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a reasonable speaker system for my dvd player please?

You should definitely check out Richer Sounds (https://www.richersounds.co.uk)

They currently have an Acoustic Solutions AS150 package available for a bargain £20 (reduced from £100) - available instore only.

Check whether you will need a seperate AV amp - I don't think you do with this package as it is 'active' - but check.

If you want to spend more, they will have better packages - you could easily spend a couple of grand.

I've bought lots of Hi-Fi from Richers over the years and cannot praise them highly enough.

be aware that the RRP of £100 is somewhat wide of the mark, Index had it before they went up the creek for £39.95

I've got one and it seems OK, only downside is you can't control individual speaker volumes like you can on some other systems, only the sub has a seperate control
  • You are going to have to be a bit more specific keeping the following in mind:

    1. How much do you want to spend
    2. Do you have a big/small room
    3. Are you partial to satellite speakers or like floor standers
    4. Do you like to listen to high quality sound
    5. The connections you will need on the amplifier/receiver e.g connect to sky etc.

Hunt around for some Tannoy FX5.1's these are now discontinued but are small and suberb value. I paid about £120 on EBay the seller was expecting more. These retailed in the region of <£500. Check the reviews (google). You might get lucky with patience.

Many thanks I'll check them out as I'm really not that fussy being deaf as a post and these sound like they will do the job for me.
