Will I still get council tax reduction as a pensioner?

I will be 66 next year and will be moving then from the ESA support group to my state pension. I haven't worked for many years because of mental and physical health issues. At present I get full council tax reduction because I am in the support group for ESA. However, I don't know if I will still get any CTR when I get my state pension. I will have no occupational pension. The state pension is all I will have to live on. I don't know if I will get pension credit (I know that pension credit would lead to automatic CTR.) If I don't get pension credit, would I still get at least some CTR as I would only have the state pension to live on?

Firstly have you checked your State Pension forecast on gov.uk to make sure there will be no unpleasant surprises with the amount?
The Council Tax query might be better posted on the Benefits board.0 -

Check on your local authority's website to see what reductions they offer (some are discretionary, so may differ from one local authority to another).Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Dazed-and-confused I have reposted my query in the benefits section. I had a pension forecast done a couple of years ago and will send for another one.
Marcon-I need to get an updated pension forecast in order to know if I will get pension credit. Thank you for your advice.0
