NHS 1995 Scheme
Could anyone clarify this for me. The NHS Pension Scheme website states
Eligible dependants
An eligible dependant could be:
- a nominee
- an adult dependant
- a dependant child
Nominee - This is the person you’ve nominated to receive your pension benefits in the event of your death.
My question is can the pension member nominate any person such as an adult nephew or niece or indeed more than one person to receive pension benefits from the scheme in the event of their death if death occurs a short time after retirement.
Thanks

There are two distinct things here, a death grant (lump sum on death) vs. dependant pension (= annual income). The former is anyone you nominate, the latter is not.robrit61 said:My question is can the pension member nominate any person such as an adult nephew or niece or indeed more than one person to receive pension benefits from the scheme in the event of their death if death occurs a short time after retirement.
