EBay DRS debt message

Hello everyone. I’ve had a message saying the DRS have sent me an email. I do owe eBay £220 but I’m not paying it because the claim submitted by the buyer was completely stupid, and eBay sided with them like they always do. Didn’t want to pay it as I’m a student, 17 years old, and I’m using my parents name with my details to have an account. I’ve had a message saying they’ve sent me an email but they haven’t so I’m not sure what to do. I don’t want to pay the debt as I need the money and I really don’t want to give the buyer my money as she was very rude and didn’t care that she was in the wrong and not me. I don’t really care about my eBay account, I’ve switched over to Facebook as I’ve just had enough with EBay over the years. Should I ignore it?

From what has been said, eBay to date haven't taken anyone to court to recover money.
Your parents are most likely going to loose access to ebay because of this as will anyone else in the same household so I suspect you are likely to get into more bother with them for that.
Are you using your parents name with their consent? If not, please stop now as this could mess your life up quite badly.
What was the issue with the sale on ebay? I ask because there is a forum on here that could have tried to help you on this and advise a possible better solution.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.

Thanks for the reply. Yes they do know I’m using their name. It’s a long story but the item I sold was slightly damaged on delivery, when I say slightly I mean a minute dent on the back of the item. We agreed to go through Royal Mail to try to get compensation but in the end the claim was denied. I said I wouldn’t give compensation as it wasn’t my fault and the damage was minute but I offered to give the buyer a full refund when the item was returned. She said she didnt want to return it so I said I couldn’t help. She then made a claim and eBay sided with her as I could only add a minimal amount of information for some reason. When eBay sided with her I messaged her asking why she made the claim and she just become very rude and insulting.

All that will happen is one of eBay's tame debt collection companies, DRS in this case, will say they have sent you comms, its usually a rouse to induce contact, they may try to ring you, they may even write to you, but that will be the extent of the contact.

If you don`t engage with them, then all will go quiet after a few weeks, and you won`t hear from them again.

This strategy is exclusive to eBay debts though, further action is never taken as a lot of these so called debts are unenforceable through the courts.

The eBay account will most likely be forfeit though, can`t have everything I guess.
