If you put aside £13 a month that would give you £150 a year to buy a replacement phone with - it is what I would choose to do, and take care of the one I had.
If you want to be more active, perhaps your budget could include something active in it - gym or swimming pool access, or running shoes, or whatever suits you.

  • I'm thinking about keeping my iPhone 11 Pro for another year then upgrading it to a newer but cheaper iPhone, perhaps 15 mini.

I don't have insurance on my phone. What I do is, there's a tough case on it, and I am really careful. But if I smashed my phone, I would use £150 from my savings to get a new one. iPhones are very expensive, Andoid are much cheaper, if you are ok to learn how they work. Even if you really want to stick to iPhones, you are right that your phone is three years old, that's as long as most phones last now! You can probably dump the insurance as soon as that contract runs out because you will have enough saved up to replace it if something happened.
I’d be miffed if my iPhone only lasted for 3 years. I keep mine till the apps iOS stops updating the apps. I wouldn’t bother with insurance though.

OP, I wouldn’t worry about your budget - £5 on the lottery isn’t a lot if you’re still saving £75 and the majority of your bills are covered elsewhere.
Focus on what you can do to keep away from booze and takeaways and the rest should take care of itself. Is this something your support workers can help with?

My support staff have helped me prepare a meal plan. I will go food shopping on a Thursday and spend £35 on food. I'm normally pretty good at sticking to my budget with regards to food shopping. I can get 7 evening meals, milk, cereals, bread, small larpack for £35. I cook and save a dinner for next day. I'm buying more veggies and cooking healthy.

Will the drinking I managed to stop for 16 days beginning of July. What got me drinking again was being bored and it was a really hot day, I have drank quite alot the rest of the month. I'm not drinking now for August AT ALL!. I'm going to do more walking and build my steps up. I'm going to get up early but with me its hard to have a routine at them moment.

I'm now 22 and a half stone - I want to lose 3 stone 7ibs in 5/6 months. I think this is doable as I have done it before cutting out the alcohol and takeaways and walking for 1.20 minutes every morning before I attend the Day Centre. My staff will come walking with me too, the able ones anyway.

What I missed off my budget is that I'm going to have to put £5  a week towards the house cleaning budget. Does anybody know if one is able to get £5 cash back from the tills when I do my shopping as I can pay this towards my staff towards cleaning stuff on a Thursday.

Good thing is I haven't got any debts but bad thing is I'm not saving money. I only have £625 in my personal savings. I asked my deputy for £246 extra this month to cover my beer and takeaways that I spend on my overdraft. He's not happy with me because I keep asking for money to over the drinking expenses.

I need to start budgeting better. I have an opportunity to visit Koh Samui in Thailand for 26 days in Jan/ Feb. I need money for this. And I want to lose 3.7 stone before I travel. That is important to me.

I don't think your phone insurance is worth it. If it broke you could get a refurbished iPhone 11 from Giffgaff for £10 a month.

Depending on how much alcohol you drink are you okay to stop straight away. Also there is a thread on here where people.challenge themselves to no alcohol days. It may be a way of you gaining support from people other than your support staff which all helps.
A gym local to me is doing an offer at the moment. You might find one near you that is similar. Depending on whether you need support staff whilst out and your physical abilities it may be an option to try and go to a gym and swim, walk on a treadmill etc and plan it when your triggers would be to drink.to try and distract yourself. Or a local library to surf the net. Only ideas whatever works for you.
Budget wise as long as you can afford your food that's okay. A bit more for price rises might be an idea, especially if you have to go over it ever time it changes with your deputy
