Hi All,
I have been looking at getting Solar for a while now and with a move to a new house i thought I would bite the bullet.
I have the following quote:
4.44KW system size
3,426 estimated annual generation
£5,995 cost for system
This is for 12 SolarWatt panels
Clenergy Mounting Kit
Solis Single Phase Inverter (3.6000 kW
I did think about getting a battery and the company have advised a Alpha ESS battery, although they aren't pushy at all and said that this can be added at a later date. (£4450 - 5.8kWh).
To give you a background the house has about 6 people in it most of them bar 1 at work during the day at coming home in the evening. Multiple Tv's in the house, no electric car or jacuzzi.
What do you guys think? good quote? should i get a battery?

The quote looks competitive.
Getting a battery now would save you the VAT on it compared to adding it later. The jury is out on whether adding a battery makes financial sense.
However, the general wisdom here is to put as many panels as you can fit on between East, South and West.0 -
At that price, the real question you have to ask yourself is whether you are happy going with Chinese owned brands (for a multitude of reasons)?

The optimises can be a very good idea if there is shading. However, they will probably not repay their cost on an un-shaded roof.0 -

I view them as an insurance policy against any shading and an excellent way to gauge individual panel health.- 10 x 400w LG + 6 x 550W SHARP BiFacial Panels + SE 3680 HD Wave Inverter + SE Optimizers. Thanks for the feedback all,
can I please ask for some recommended companies for supply and fitting, if allowed. I have another quote on the way from another local provider.0 -
