On almost all major purchases. Last one would have been a new cooker.
Was entitled to a big discount with one company who had no stock and 6 months lead time and got most of that discount plus a freebie accessory pack from another company that was holding stock so delivered 2 days later.
Did approach two other companies with stock before and they weren't interested but have no issues with that... a deal has to work for both sides and as proven if it doesn't work for them it may well work for someone else.
How it worked out can be a bit difficult to judge though... with various overpriced accessories thrown in you wouldnt value it at the full RRP but neither is it worth nothing. Accessories/extras can often be a win win as it doesn't cost the business the RRP to include them but will save you close to that if its something you'll be buying anyway.1
