Just would like to inform everyone Tha Amazon treats British members with contempt . Price of UK Amazon Prime £75 to £94 Spain members from 36 EUROS to 49 EUROS . I have just received my bill from Amazon.
This is pure contempt for British members at a time of credit crisis . Would like the Trillion dollar company AMAZON to explain themselves ?

There was information in the email stating this was the first price rise since 2014. They're a private company and can set their own prices. If you don't like the new price, don't renew. It's no differet to Netflix, Disney+ etc being cheaper in other countries. The minimum wage in Spain is £6.58, in the UK its £9.50. That's a difference of 44%, so your comparison is not like for like.2 -
Its very common for products to be sold at different prices in different markets; I've been paying well below UK rate for Netflix because I was overseas when I happened to sign up.
Personally I'd expect that the penetration of Prime is much lower in the Spanish market and so having a lower fee to increase sales is a fairly standard strategy. You'd also need to really compare what realistically is covered by the prime fee... certainly where I live most items are available on next day delivery and a good number on same day delivery... offering this for free is inevitably more expensive than just offering a 3 day delivery for free. Looking at delivery to central Madrid then most Prime offers are 2-3 days0 -
I have got some items from Amazon using prime as a free one off in both Canada and the UK. They are/were 7.99 in both but in their respective currencies. So in Canada it's about £5.? I think it's also 7.99 in the US so about £6.60.

Happens all the time across multiple companies - priced to the local market/average salary/base costs etc. I pay about £3 a month for Spotify premium, as I signed up when living in Asia using my local bank account - it's the same Spotify as the UK but a third of the price - but the country I signed up in has a considerably lower average take-home wage compared to the UK, and the take-up at UK prices would be very low.
Is a McDonalds Big Mac the same price in every country in the world? If not - why not? Surely it's the same burger - right? (This is a rhetorical question)0
