Telegraph- 'Free' Sky News Year in Review 2007 DVD-
reexamines the major news stories of 2007 including the McCann's, floods and rugby world cup as well as all the major political moments of the year including the Blair hand over and how brown failed to call an election. Also featured are the year's tragic stories inc- George Bush losing many of his aides ( !), the continued surges in Iraq and Afghanistan and the Diana Inquest
It costs either £1.99 postage or 70p on a padded envelope and is a token collect- 2 tokens needed. There was one in the paper yesterday, one today and it says there will be three altogether. Applications received no later than Dec 20th. On p21

I only post this in case someone else would like it. It sounds absolutely dismal- and I like the news normally- all these things are so miserable- although I don't know how George Bush's aides leaving is a tragedy.

I'm not sure this even counts as an offer although the telegraph are billing it as 'free'- but maybe it would be good for someone

Celebrate the Classics with your free copy of Cranford- Its the Wordsworth classics edition and costs £1.99 p and p with a form from p37 of the paper. It comes together with an offer to get some' classics' and get this one free-
    Selected works Virginia Woolf
    Complete Works of William Shaespeare
Sherlock Holmes- The complete facsimile collection
    Selected works of Conrad
    Shorter Novels of Dickens
    Vintage mystery and detective stories
    COmplete novels of jane Austen
    Collected works of Oscar Wilde
Each book is priced at £6.95 but you can buy any two books for £12,any 4 forfor £22 or all 8 for £40 with a free copy of Cranford- allthese apart from Cranford have £2.65 p and p for however many you order.
(I hate to point out the obvious but if you are thinking of getting these they are very unwieldy because they are collections- so fine for looking up a quote but not very practical for reading.)

Just had a look at the Christmas Quiz in the Mail and it's not bad at all. I paid £15 for a quiz to keep everyone occupied after lunch on christmas day but this would have been fine.
    There will always be:
A “LIE” in BELIEVE, an “OVER” in LOVER, an “END” in FRIEND, an “US” in TRUST , and an “IF” in LIFE ;)
