Interesting that the Halifax never ask WHY we no longer visit in branch.  One - the long queues which whilst they were always long now take ages to clear because they have no-one on the tills.  2 - when you get near a till someone always insists that you can use the paying-in ATM which never works properly so you still need to use an actual person. 3 - the parking which is £1 for half an hour.  But you need to do an hour because their tills take so long.  I could probably think of more but I really can't be bothered!

I'm not sure sure why this is news any more - for everyone I know visiting a bank branch is a distant memory like renting VHS cassettes.

This is very true, I was a cashier for Halifax and when they brought in the iPads (digital banking) they removed the cashers off the tills and put the staff on the iPads, I was the only cashier left on the tills and the queues was mammoth, as customers wanted to see a person, and the rules were that you could only have one member of staff on the tills and everyone else was supposed to show people how to use the self service machines. It isn't surprising as now more people are able to use machines or are now online (we were targeted to get x amount of people online a week) which kind of signed our P60's really.

Its such a shame as when I started there was six cashiers on the tills
