Will creditors phone workplace?

My husband and I have got ourselves into a real financial mess. We have taken on too many debts (14k all in) and have fallen into a cycle of borrowing money from family to get though the month.
I have been reading through the posts on this forum and think going down the route of letting the debts default then arranging our own DMP is the best action to take. It will give us time to get out of the family lending cycle and to save an emergency fund.
I am worried however as 3 of the lenders are high interest installment companies: fernovo, quid market and cash float. These are in my husbands name and he is on board with the plan above but is worried that these companies will call his work place. Can they do this? Has anyone had any experience of these companies phoning their workplace?

Thanks for reading.

Take all the doubt away by either contacting them or using a free debt charity like Step Change to set up the DMP.

Equally if you could put a SOA up you will get some good advice regarding cutting costs.

However identifying the problem, having your other half on board is one of the biggest steps.  So good luck in your debt free journey,

This should be a non issue nowadays.

Under GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) you have the right to choose how you are contacted.

You simply ring them up, and say "Hello, its so un so, account number xxxxxxx, I`d like you to remove my work telephone number from your database, as a point of contact please".

They will do so there and then, and you can also specify how you would like to be contacted, for example, in writing only.

It is your statutory right, and you should exercise it.
