Before I apply for bankruptcy

Hi I am in the middle of a very messy divorce. I have been left with huge debts in my name as my soon to be ex could not get credit. Joint property mortgaged is about to be repossessed. I have moved into rented accommodation. I work for the nhs and am often asked to work extra to cover the service, if I do work I am paid bank however this is not all the time do I need to include this as my income as don’t want to get into trouble. The extra helps with my bill, I am left with nothing spare. I also have a small work saving pot which I am not getting access to until nov hoping to apply for bankruptcy by sept. This money was put aside to try a get a second hand sofa and pay for Christmas will this be taken also as payments. My monthly income just covers my expenses I work in the community and petrol cost are so high I sometimes have to rely on food banks to eat. I have contacted step changes and have been advised bankruptcy. I am also off work at the moment recovering from an operation, so my wage has reduced any help would be grateful
