Is it wise to purchase now or should I wait as house prices might come down , though it is in a good area ?

House prices are not likely to come down at all in my opinion. They might not increase for a while if the cost of living is affecting buyers and the amounts they can borrow, but there is a shortage of good houses, so buy one now if you can.

If you have found a house you want in a good area then yes.  Don't forget someone else might decide to buy it!

You should not be buying as an investment, do not think of it that way.  You should be buying a home, one that you will use as such for many years (we have lived here for 37 years), don't miss out because you are umming and arring .

House prices trend will ALWAYS go up, between 1-10% depending on what's happening in the economy/world etc. 

Get on the ladder ASAP and look back on this thread in 3-5 years time and it will be one of  the best decisions you ever made.
