Have seen this phone on Play.com for 69.99 on Vodafone PAYG.
All reviews I have read are pretty positive. Can anybody find any cheaper or advise of another good PAYG phone at decent price

My personal opinion...
My husband and I each bought a K800i last year. It is quite a good phone but the wiggly stick thing in the middle is pants. It bends left right up and down and some days one of the directions will not work which is irritating. Also you get a couple of games on the phone and now if I play them the phone kind of turns itself on and off again. The battery is not great. Camera is fab though!
Personally I wouldn't buy one of these phones again. Our dream has come true...

I've had a K800i for 17 months, just about to get my upgrade tomorrow (k850)
I would not agree with MKwife.. my phone has lasted extremely well, the stick in the middle sometimes need a clean - a blast of air will help. My phone has never turned off because I played a game - it's probably only crashed 5 times in the time i've owned it. The battery is pretty good - excellent standby time. Like all phones, it will diminish if you talk on it a lot..0 -
You were lucky then ringo!
My husband rarely uses his phone except for texting and his crashes at least once a week. Mine is in constant use (being female) and mine crashes probably every other day. Maybe we just had phones out a bad batch?

Probably, Sony use to be terrible for supplying under-developed software and it crashing. I did have my software upgraded once, that did make it more stable. Perhaps pop to a big carphone warehouse (i had it done for free at the one on oxford st) and see if they'll do it.. i never managed to get it done online properly. I would expect new K800i's to have it already installed.
I got my K850 about 3 hours ago, rather fun and i do like the touch screen buttons. Gone is the middle stick, in comes a snazzier camera mode and some rather fun games (marble madness!!)0 -
My First post! i have just purchased a k800i i and i love it great camera not a bad phone all round a bargain for 69 quid.
i have also had a k500 and in between a samsung E900 (awfull phone), the k500 joystick was fine and so is the one on k800i (better than using the keys for games anyway).
Anyone looking to buy a new phone and a new camera this is a steal (not literally

I love my K800i, I use it constantly for texting and talking and thankfully never had a problem. One crash in about four months. Battery is great, camera is great too. I paid £80 for mine and think it's worth every penny.Sigless0

you can get it cheap on marshall ward website....it's reduced to £59 with vodaphone but you can get £20 or £15 off your first order to bring it down much cheaper0

I adore mine, it's a fantastic phone and the camera is amazing.
However - please consider buying a case to go with it too if possible - the camera shutter on the back comes down far too easily and you end up running your battery out and taking thousands of pics of your pocket etc without realising. (and when you lock the keypad, it doesn't disable your camera so if the shutter still comes down you'll end up still taking pictures that you don't mean to.
Also - make sure that you lock the keys as it's so easy for a button to be pressed and you end up online wasting your credit - ditto when you use the phone, the hot key for the wap is far too easily pressed as it's in between the first menu button and the 'back' key and if you don't hit the key you want properly, you're online again, using credit!
The joystick is a pain on occasion too, you have to make sure you have your finger right over it and push it in the right direction firmly (though obv not too firmly to break it ) Sometimes it won't work at all and you have to reboot to make it work(
.... but those aside, it's one of the best phones I've ever had. (and I've had a lot - I love mobiles!)0
