No permission as yet, I'm assuming that pending me signing up for the quote.
A few questions from me if you don't mind:

    1. Why the battery? Are you a heavy evening energy user?

    2. Have you considered other panel brands from conglomerates like Hyundai or Sharp, both all black 400W panels? In my view, these would be a safer bet, in every sense of the word.

    3. Based on the below 4kW quote for a family member, I'm pretty sure my installer can best your quote while supplying non-Chinese brands. DM me if you'd like an introduction.

10x400w Sharp solar panels, 25 year performance warranty and a 15 year product warranty

10 x Solar Edge S440 Solar optimizers. 25 Year warranty

1 x Solar Edge HD Wave single phase inverter[Battery ready inverter] 25 year product warranty

      1 x All cable run’s isolators and fitting’s

      1 x Micro generation meter

      1 x System monitoring

      1 x MCS and G98 Certificates

      1 x Access equipment

    Fully fitted price of £5,750.00

Well this is depressing. I shudder to think how much this would cost less than 4 months on!

    Are you missing a 1 between the £ and the 5?  :D

Last time I checked, this was still being honoroured - what's depressing about it?

Do you have a link please? That price is around a third of what I’d expect - unless I’m missing something?

edit: whoops! I misread and thought it had a battery. Still very interested in that price as it seems like great kit

It's less than half the size of your quote as well. He's referring to LR Renewables, a lot of people use them, they're cheap, don't do stupid quote games and mostly get the job done. They are known to be poor on the back office work and have a mixed reputation.

They are worth checking in with.
    8kW (4kW WNW, 4kW SSE) 6kW inverter. 6.5kWh battery.

@Screwdriva do you get any financial incentives from LR? Either way it might be a good idea to state it with recommendations.

BTW my brother is very happy with their install so far - thanks.

Thrilled to hear it and was a pleasure! I haven't been paid a penny by  any installer  to date - feel free to verify this. I'm personally, deeply motivated to help get as many homes on solar as I can. Good for the country and the planet. I'm at 25 in total now, including your brother. Comments like yours and the thanks I receive via DM's more than make the effort worth it

I should share that they really do try take care of anyone I send their way (family, neighbours and forum members), probably because I'm now a healthy % of their annual revenue :) I suppose that's an incentive worth disclosing?
