Mortgage broker gone away


is there a way we can check status ourselves with Halifax, thought it would make things easier using MA but turned into nightmare

Given that conveyancing is close to an end and you are talking about a 2 week deadline, I'm assuming your mortgage application went in ages ago?
If you aren't getting any joy at all, I would recommend considering putting in a formal complaint to the broker firm so that they take you seriously.
In the meantime you can try calling Halifax Intermediaries on their number here https://www.halifax-intermediaries.co.uk/contact/default.aspx I don't know if they will speak to you but definitely worth a shot.I am a Mortgage Adviser - You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. been a month since searches etc started and draft contracts, all paperwork incase anything was ever asked for sent to MA ( bank statements payslip p60s ID even credit reports) we paid for valuation, nobodies contacted the sellers so don’t know if ones booked or desktop, we know nothing he’s on holiday his colleague isn’t answering us ,0 -

Halifax are very quick at processing applications and take no more than 2-3 working days for any to-and-fro so a month is much longer than you typically need to get to offer.I am a Mortgage Adviser - You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
