Mortgage broker gone away

So full application with Halifax went in, sent payslip which they asked for, paid for valuation, our current mortgage is with Halifax on this house, anyway no way of knowing if Halifax have requested anything else, where the application has progressed to nothing as advisors on holiday , he said a colleague will be checking his clients but she’s ignoring us, being pushed for mortgage offer as searches and draft contracts all done and sellers we are buying off are on a clock as their mortgage offer expires in 2 weeks
is there a way we can check status ourselves with Halifax, thought it would make things easier using MA but turned into nightmare

@strong8096 Sorry to hear this, definitely not on.

Given that conveyancing is close to an end and you are talking about a 2 week deadline, I'm assuming your mortgage application went in ages ago?

If you aren't getting any joy at all, I would recommend considering putting in a formal complaint to the broker firm so that they take you seriously.

In the meantime you can try calling Halifax Intermediaries on their number here https://www.halifax-intermediaries.co.uk/contact/default.aspx I don't know if they will speak to you but definitely worth a shot.

@strong8096 When did the full mortgage application go in? If it's been a month, you have no clue what has happened in that time and no one at the firm is giving you an update, definitely consider putting in a formal complaint .

Halifax are very quick at processing applications and take no more than 2-3 working days for any to-and-fro so a month is much longer than you typically need to get to offer.
