in Cutting tax
I did some digital artwork a few months ago and a small American company saw it on Instagram and asked if they could purchase it, so that they could use it on their products.
I agreed and they paid me $4,000 (£3,325). This was done through Paypal. No future work has been discussed.
I figured that I better let HMRC know, so set up a self-assessment account.
I received my new tax code notice this week for April 2022 and April 2023, and I've done it all wrong as it says 'Less Other Unearned Income £3,325). This is of course deducted from my personal allowance of £12,570 for my regular job.
I just can't figure out how to change it online as some of the questions are over my head.

The adjustment to your code will collect the tax due on the income you've earned. You then register for self assessment before (assuming the income was earned during the current tax year) 5th October 2023 and HMRC will issue a notice to file. You keep using that word.
