247Moneybox selling debt to Lantern and reporting to Equifax

Hello.  Can anyone advise me?  I took out a loan from 247Moneybox for £320 in 2011 when I was stuggling with a young faimly and low income.  They tried to get me to repay £605 which I started doing before going into a debt management plan (this was not my only debt).  I ended up paying about £100 of the total before changing DMPs (the DMP company closed). They must have stopped contacting me and I honestly forgot about them, thinking I had sorted everything with a new debt plan.  Last year sometime they sent me an email stating that they were going into liquidation, I was missold a loan, and did I want to apply applied for redress.  I was not sure but just clicked OK on the email - why not!?  What I actually got back was a letter from Lantern stating that they have bought the debt from Moneybox and now I owe THEM £500.  I thought that as I was missold the loan it would not be enforceable, however the people at 247moneybox stated at the time that I am, and I am also not due for any redress. OK - fine - I will pay it.  What I am more worried about is that Money box entered a "settled" notice on my Equifax file. Now this might seem like a good thing, but actaully it is not.  I have worked really hard to move my credit rating from low to 'not too bad at all' over the last 10 years in the hope of soon buying instead of renting.  From what I have learned though this process, even having this mark on my record is damaging for another 6 years as it looks like I took out a payday loan recently and mortgage companies will steer clear. In addition, I thought that as the default was over 6 years ago, no company should be reporting anything at all on my file regarding this loan.  I have sent multiple emails to Moneybox but they don't answer any more and the phones don't work either. So - how on Earth do I get this thing removed???  Any advice, pointer or previous experince welcomed!  Thank you.

When did you stop paying them through the DMP (if you are still on one I hope it is with Stepchange, Payplay, or one of the other charities, and not a fee charging one) as if it was before 2015 it may be statute barred by now, but from the above it is not clear.
If the default was over 6 years ago it cannot be added again, so the debt will not show on your file, if it does you can raise a complaint.
Depending on when you last paid anything towards this, I would send a letter to them at the address they have given you, headed "Complaint" saying that the default date was in 2011(?) and that they should not be adding it again.

You appear to have a number of issues here.

Harrisons Business Recovery and Insolvency Limited were appointed as joint administrators of Active Securities Limited trading as 247 Moneybox on 29 November 2019.

The sale of the 247 customer loan book, loans due from customers not eligible for redress, was completed to Lantern Debt Recovery, in December 2021.

    According to Harrisons website -

    1. Credit record
    • 3.1 Unfortunately, the Joint Administrators are unable to request the removal of loan information from Redress customers’ credit records until the Redress exercise has been completed.
    • 3.2 It may be prudent to contact your credit reference agency (“CRA”), as it is our understanding that some CRAs are deleting loan data once a company has entered into Administration. I would note that this is at the absolute discretion of the CRA and not within the control of the Joint Administrators .
Further updates will be available in our next report to creditors, which will be posted to our website by 29 June 2021.
Clearly that date has now passed, I would contact Harrisons and see what they can do for you with regard to your credit file.

As for the actual debt, if there was ever a period of 6 years where no payment or written acknowledgement was made by you, the debt will be statute barred, and you won`t have to pay it, you need to check when you last made a payment, and do the maths.

You can contact Harrisons here -

Actually looking back at your previous posts, is this the same debt you asked advice on before ?

Or is this another debt completely.
