Remortgaging via a Broker - certify ID

Hi all,
This is the first time I have remortgaged to another lender and I have done this via a Broker.
The lenders solicitor (based some distance away) has been liaising with myself .
I have just realised I have not been ID checked. The lenders solicitor advised certified documents can be uploaded to their website and suggested bank, building society.
I went to Barclays and they do not offer this service - are there any banks or building society's that offer this and do I have to be a client of theirs first? I am guessing I will have to go around all the local solicitors - is this normal practice?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
thanks.

Ask your broker to help. It's what we do.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. We just sent our ID to our broker in the post, they checked it and sent back the next day. We sent our drivers licences' and emailed them copies of bank statements. We are old clients of theirs in any case so he's met us in person some years ago.
We've previously used the post office ID check and send service too.0 -
You need to check how they want it certified, and by whom. Despite that .gov.uk site, there are no general rules - solicitors might demand it's certified by a much more restricted list than that above. They might also want wording that they're confirming they've seen you and the mugshot matches your face.0
