L&C/Natwest Deposit Mistake

Hi,
I am a FTB and have a mortgage offer from Natwest through the broker L&C.
When L&C put in the application I looked over the document and noted the deposit amount was incorrect, it was about £1000 higher. I let the broker know and was told it was probably a mistype and not to worry about it, it wont make any difference to the loan amount.

However, I now have my mortgage offer and the loan amount is slightly lower than needed due to the incorrect deposit amount. It isnt a huge difference but still more than I originally wanted to pay, and will eat into my furniture budget. I have asked my broker about it but still waiting an answer so just wanted some other opinions.
Am I best just paying the extra deposit ?
Would changing the loan/deposit amount take a long time?
It took 2 months to get the mortgage offer and I really dont want to go through that again and I definitely do not want to loose my interest rate.

I wasn't expecting much from a free service but L&C have been very disapointing. I had also asked for a home buyers survey through Natwest, and over a month ago had asked my broker about the status on this and told the report would be sent with the mortgage offer, but now seems it wasnt requested.

Thanks.

  • Not the exact same scenario but in March I got a mortgage offer through from NatWest and the loan amount was quite a bit lower than I was requesting as they had accidentally taken the deposit off twice. I informed my broker straight away and I was issued a new mortgage offer a week later with the correct amount. The interest rate stayed the same and they didn't ask for any additional information. Hope you manage to get it sorted.
