my vinted story

2 days ago i set up an account with vinted uk and today i was asked to verify via my mobile number [after verifying via my email two days ago]
anyway, i go to verify via my mobile number and it keeps saying my number is not valid and now i am locked out of my vinted account for 24 hours! [i do not think i will get back in to be honest]
i have no idea what is going on but i am worried as they [vinted uk] have my bank account details and i want to remove my bank account details from their service
i have asked my bank if they can advise me on how to cancel my card details that have been left with them [vinted uk] as i have tried to do it via online banking but i can not seem to see if it can be done this way?! [plus i am locked out of my vinted account]
anyway i hope my story can help warn others as i feel vinted is a very dodgy business
take care from me

  • Hello, so I’m interested to see how you got on. I have the same story. Locked out as it randomly asked me to put my number in one day to access my account (claiming to be for safety  ,not allowing me to skip) . It then  said I have an invalid telephone number and I was unable to get back in and my balance is about £400 which I’m unable to withdraw. Emailed vinted but problem is they reply to your vinted account which you can’t access. Lots of horror story’s online with similar stories and vinted has 2 star rating on trust pilot! By all accounts it’s pretty unsafe for sellers and sellers having been required to send pictures of driving licences and m passports to withdraw funds. other countries have even banned it as there is a question mark over data protection. Wish I’d know all this before. Apparently customer services is dreadful, mostly automated responses sending you in circles and others that have reported this seem to never have it resolved

So sorry to hear of your experiences. I will cross Vinted off my list along with ebay. Still wanting to sell my Laura Ashley vintage dress collection though.

I have just signed up for Vinted today, and had the same 'invalid telephone number' message, but all I had to do was put +44 and take the 0 off my number.

When using Vinted make sure you understand the postage options, turn off any you can't use as buyer chooses postage and once you get a label sent you can't change it.  Also expect a lot of offers, 'offers' are a thing on Vinted .
The forums there are quite useful, but for general chat there are a few of us Vinted users on the ebay board (see my signature)
One last thing, make sure you sign up with a mainstream bank , people are reporting issues with withdrawing money to some of the newer online ones.
