Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have looked for posts regarding solar energy, but I can not seem to find any recent posts. Does anyone know if it is a good energy substitute, and that the prices of paying for solar panels would be cheaper than the current energy costs. Also, does anyone know if grants are available and if working households can claim these grants.

Yes, for most people it's the only practical and economical way of generating electricity at home.Solar panel prices vary a lot, but it you get a decent quote and are willing to make a few lifestyle changes they can pay for themselves in 8-10 years. Also, does anyone know if grants are available and if working households can claim these grants.
I'm not aware of any generally-available grants at this time, sorry. Some low-income households in energy-inefficient housing could get them installed for free under the ECO3/ECO4 schemes, but I don't know if those are still running.N.
