Council tax band challenge, which houses to compare to

It feels like it. I can see how these others and ourselves could be in the same band (whether it's D or E) if they consider the range of the band to be large enough, but not them being in a lower band than us. Unless the detached vs semi-detached (through a pair of garages) difference is big enough of a thing even if they've been extended to be bigger.Having said that a couple are detached (so originally absolutely identical to ours but now made bigger) so I can't see how there would be any question about them.Do they take any notice of recent sale prices? Not converted through the Nationwide calculator etc. of course because I know they won't take that as evidence.0

There is no harm in submitting recent sale prices. It may draw the VOA's attention to an apparent anomaly.
The worst that is going to happen is that the VOA decide to increase the Band D houses to Band E.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1
