Santander Mortgage Offer follow on credit checks

I just wondered if Santander do anymore credit checks after mortgage offer please? I can't find anything conclusive and mortgage broker stated she doesn't know specific if they do or not but a chance they could.  I wondered if anyone had recent experience of offer with them with a long wait for completion? Thanks

Why should it matter? 

You should always assume they will run a credit check the morning of completion. Until you have those keys in your hand, do not apply for credit, don’t pay for household stuff on credit. Beg and borrow from family if you must, but don’t use a credit facility even if it means sleeping on an air mattress for a few days. 

I can’t tell you if they do or don’t but always safer to assume they will. I’ve known people have offers pulled a day before completion due to taking out a large finance on expensive furniture which took them well out or affordability!
