Should I stay or should I go?

First post here so hopefully I get this right! Just looking for some advice because I am really torn and struggling with this decision!

I currently work in an office and am on a fixed term contract as I was covering maternity. The lady I was covering has resigned and her maternity has now officially ended. I have asked the manager multiple times as to when I can interview for the permanent role and whether I would get a payrise as the rest of the team received an annual increase in April and I didn't. He replied saying that he would interview me when he's back from holiday in 2 weeks and a payrise would be discussed then and he couldn't give me any figures now.

In the meantime while I was frustrated with waiting I emailed my old manager to see if there was any jobs available there. They have offered me a fully working from home role on the same wage I am now with the ability to get it raised by £3000 assuming it all goes well. She wants an answer by Monday.

So my conundrum is, to stay or go?!
I currently commute to my office based job and last month I ended up paying £200 on fuel due to the ridiculous prices at the pumps. Whereas the WFH role would mean no commuting so I could look to save about £120 a month on petrol. But I'm not sure whether to risk staying in the office job in the hopes that I'll receive a big enough payrise to help cover the petrol costs or whether I would still end up having more money to myself by accepting the old job with the same wage I'm currently on and saving the money from the petrol?

Obviously there are pros and cons to WFH and working in an office but my main concern at the minute is money and ensuring I have enough as the cost of living spirals.

Thanks for any advice in advance!

Don't forget that there is tax and NI to pay on any pay rise, so it needs to be about £160 a month to be cash neutral.

Simple, follow the money, now more than ever...

You didn't mention that one of the job sucks, so I think you just need to follow the money now, anyway you don't have any warranty that your job will last, good luck.
