Hi, new to the forum so please be kind!! I’ve read lots of closed threads on here about people considering having work done such as conservatories and garage conversions whilst they have a H2B loan. Just wondered if anyone had actually a: requested permission or b: had the work done anyway?
I know the documents say you shouldn’t alter the property unless it’s for medical reasons which still require permission but as 100% legal owner, from a legal standpoint so long as the work is not detrimental to the property, I can’t see that much could be done to stop small changes like a conservatory or garage conversion which add value. Has there been any cases where the government have requested the work to be demolished or put back? Taken to court?
Does anyone have any thoughts? Just looking for views really. TIA

something to consider, they have an equity stake in the property. If you say add a conservatory its going to add value, and cost you more to pay offDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.1
