@taff - roasted butternut squash, roasted beetroot, mixed grains, radish, blueberries(!) and a yoghurt/mint dressing, with dark blue nachos x 3. Less naughty than the burgers that DD and DS2 had (hopefully)

Morning all, heavy rain here so a short dog walk earlier as she doesn't like rain- in fact she doesn't even like the noise of it on the glass roof in the kitchen so she's taken herself into the cellar where it's very quiet and she won't be so rudely interrupted
Quiet day yesterday, we did think we might call at DBs to give SIL her card & birthday wine but there was no answer, and when he rang back it was a bit too near tea time so have planned to go later in the week on his day off. There was only myself & DH for tea, DS1 has gone with a group of mates overnight for a gig at Castle Howard, back this afternoon. We took the opportunity to have prawns for tea, as in gambas pil pil, as he isn't keen.DS2 called after dropping DGS back at his mums, updating Dh on work as he's still off with his bad knee. Physio again today so I'll take the chance to call at the Al di round the corner again. Interesting about the price match list , I shall have to have a look at that Dp1 thanks.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all. Started raining here just as I put some dark stuff on to wash!
Just back from a weekend in Lincoln. Lovely place to visit but watch out for the hills. They don't call one of the roads Steep Hill for nothing
The Cathedral has had a nice addition of a shop/cafe/garden within the past year and it's been done very sympathetically. Before we drove home we sat outside there for coffee and it was very pleasant. It certainly looks like a thriving city, judging by the crowds on Saturday, so that's good to see.
Today I need to sort some fresh food for the rest of the week and probably make a cake. We've decided to wait until Friday and, if DH hasn't had a letter from the hospital by then, we will be safe to book somewhere for Monday night so that we can go to a friend's Memorial Service on Tuesday. This 3 day wait after a PCR will be the thing that messes us up now, rather than the actual Day Case appointment.
Hope the day goes well for everyone.

Afternoon all, I'm late on parade today ! Mr Fix It had an appointment with the vampire nurse this morning so we decided to go on to the garden centre for coffee and a shared cake, I'm trying to be good and get back on the diet wagon, honest 🙂 and we've only just got home. Everyone seemed to want to chat today, both employees and customers and I bought myself a new gardening book and some more weed suppressant fabric ready to go down and then cover with the gravel I already have, it was saved from before the drive build. Mr Fix It bought 2 cookery books so I'm looking forward to some great meals 👨🍳😁 Not much else will happen here today except to get the bins out and put the carpet machine back together again, I took it apart to clean the gunk out of it and now I hope I can remember which screws go where !
Tea tonight will be lamb kebabs, we've not tried them before but worth a go I suppose, can you tell I'm not looking forward to them.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.
