Anyone flown with Ryanair recently out of Dublin recently?

What time is bag drop opening?  They said in recent news 3.5 hours before to alleviate congestion, but their site still says 2 hours?

Had an early morning flight out from terminal 2 last Friday. Check in was hectic, around 3 hrs. Had to be fast tracked in the end so as not to miss the flight.

Just to loop back and for completeness.  They did indeed open checkin 3.5 hours before the flight.

It was almost surreal - we were there at 02:20 (slightly ahead of planned time) for an 06:15 flight.  Dublin airport was bedlam, literally queued out the door for RyanAir checkin.  Must have been 400 people in front of us.

In fairness to them, they opened checkin for the first flight at 02:30 (for the 06:00 flight), and it moved very quickly after that.  30 minutes after arrival we were checked in.

    20 minutes through airport security.

In fairness to Dublin Airport, even at that time they were well staff with event marshalls and queuing systems in place.  There wasnt a time even walking up through from the drop off that there wasnt event marshalls assisting and ensuring you went to the right place.

Would not like to have been facing it of a weekend though....

I flew out of Dublin on Sunday 7th got there at 8pm ish for 11.30 flight. I had no baggage so straight to security about 3mins getting through that. Took me more time than that getting my s*** back together! I agree that they had lots of staff everywhere.

Apparently people from quite close to Dublin are flying from cork, Shannon and knock to save time.

That would surprise me greatly as they're all 2.5+ hours from Dublin, and i'm sure there still an expectation there to turn up earlier anyway.

I met someone earlier this week who’d driven from Wexford to Shannon. Reckoned it had saved several hours, and met others in the short queues there doing the same.
It was discussed on RTÉ last week.

Wexford to Dublin Airport is 1 hour 50 mins but yes, if you're including somewhere that far away as close to Dublin then it probably would make sense.

One of the examples featured on the radio was someone from Mullingar using knock rather than Dublin. Knock is great - you park about 100 metres from the door and you’re through to departures in about 10 minutes. It’s like using a railway station.

It was actually Gorey, Co. Wexford, but you can see the logic.
