I was put on with Valda Energy via Love Energy - only to find that my monthly tarrif is 4 times more , yeah I know tarriff have rocketed up but these cowboys are taking the mick - they have already offered me 5 % discount and I’ve asked for 10% and they said no . So I’m going to escalate it to the ombudsman . Anybody know the details / experience of using an ombudsman . TIA x

I don't think you can take it to the Ombudsman if you don't like the tariff you been offered. Or in your case if you want an higher discount than they are prepared to give you.
They would have a few million complaints if that is possible.
Seems Valda Energy is business tariffs, there is no cap protection, it is up to you to find the best deal.0 -
Aren't Valda a business supplier? In which case the ombudsman can't help.

I am also not sure why you complain. I think for business their prices are really not bad.
1/2/3 year fix for 6000KWh
Even the one year fix with a 5% discount is near the estimated cap.0 -
I have no idea whether you can refer your complaint to Energy Ombudsman Services (EOS). What I do know is that you have to follow the supplier’s complaints process in full before you do so. You also need to be prepared to wait for about 4 weeks for EOS to review your complaint based solely on the evidence that you and the supplier provide. You also need to think through the consequences to yourself if EOS finds in the supplier’s favour. It is never a given that a complainant will win.Confused_landord said:I was put on with Valda Energy via Love Energy - only to find that my monthly tarrif is 4 times more , yeah I know tarriff have rocketed up but these cowboys are taking the mick - they have already offered me 5 % discount and I’ve asked for 10% and they said no .
