I hear Martin Lewis was turned down by the Lords after applying for a seat. An interview with him talking to Nick Robinson is on BBC sounds here https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0018nfy

I'm sorry Martin didn't get in, he would have made a valuable contribution. I despair at our out-dated political system.

As I understand it, he said he couldn't give the necessary time to The Lords.

Other than he said he wasn't willing to spend the time that's required to do the job so it was never going to be a successful application and so you have to wonder why 1) apply 2) highlight you've been rejected... what's the real game plan.

Its not the first odd thing he's done... like making this site an unlimited company so its finances didn't have to be publicly declared a few years ahead of its sale.
