    I’ll also check any documents to see if there was a contracted out deduction. Will this make a difference?

    It might make a difference to the state pension - see calculation in link in my previous.

    It  seems that your mother has been awarded an increased basic  SP on your father's contributions.

    If he had Grad, she should inherit 50% of this.

    If he had a contracted out deduction, then she will inherit a certain proportion of this.

    What does your mother's letter from DWP actually show?

    We applied for ill health retirement for my wife in march to the lgps, tps and ppf. Ppf sorted within a month, lgps doctor assessed my wife 6 weeks ago, agreed she could not work in any capacity, since then nothing. Tps, not heard a whisper, zip. 
     We have not yet started weekly chase ups.... But will have to eventually.
    Really poor service.
