The forthcoming reductions in NI Contributions.

I'm 44 in December. I work part time. up until now I have been paying my NI Contributions in the normal manner. However with increases in the threshold where we start paying I won't be making any more NI contributions from now on. Problem is I'm concerned about how this will affect my state Pension. Will it make any difference & if so what do I need to do to make sure I get the maximum pension I can when I retire. It might well be that I will take up full time work again in the future. However with 2 young children not as yet. Please advise me if you can. Thanks

You are under a misapprehension. You don't need to pay NI to gain a qualifying year and that hasn't changed.
Have a read of this, in particularWhat happens if I earn less than the weekly/monthly threshold?

You will be credited with class 1 NI if you earn over £123 per week. You also get class 3 credits if in receipt of child benefit. As above , get a pension forecast to see exactly what your current situation is
