Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry underfoot but cloudy. Wash load ready to peg out.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was egg, bacon, fried mash and beans for the menfolk. I had fish and salad. Tonight will be gammon, egg and chips.
Yesterday work was ok,. Today I'm working from other office but only half a day.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, enjoy your half day.
Very overcast this morning but should brighten up. Yesterday turned into a really warm and sunny afternoon and evening, really good to see sunshine on the longest day.
Cut the grass when I got home and managed to get some of the oil on the decking, thankfully it hasn't rained but it's not looking good for the next week or so, it may have to wait for the rest to be done.
The P7 show was fab, really enjoyed by the whole school and parents, it was a great atmosphere. Next big thing is the fun day tomorrow then the leaver's assembly on Friday which is always a tear jerker.
Hope you are all well and have a great day, take care. XX11 -
Morning folks. Thanks for reminding me that Bella is in Cuba not Cyprus.Camelot - your talk of end of school year events whisked me back a good few decades, all the excitement and fear is still with me. A show, sports day and final assembly are good memories, along with the bus trip to the seaside too. 😀. You'll be exhausted by the end of the week.Taff - your comment about going from three pairs of shoes to a multitude made me laugh, I've done exactly the same just recently as I plan for my holiday. Madness has taken hold of me.TA - I hope that you had a good time with your
BFF yesterday. My day was a mixture of sloth and activity. I wanted to watch Reacher again so whizzed through all eight episodes, fast forwarding through chunks of it. In between episodes I went into the garden and pulled weeds. Then I ended up in the kitchen where I did a deep clean of the sink, the half sink was especially in need of the pink stuff and toothbrush. It's all gleaming now, very satisfying. The highlight of my day was the arrival of new vacuum cleaner 😆 the downstairs one was well past its sell by date. New one was all put together in five minutes and given a test run, it's much more effective than the old one so I felt justified. All the packaging and old machine are in the car boot ready for the tip tomorrow.Last night I thought that today would be Thursday when I have a few things to do in town, before realising that I was wrong. Being retired seems to meld the days into a blur, having free time is the killer, I prefer having things to do.Today is very dull so far, my hopes aren't high for any sunshine. My thoughts are with all those who are struggling.Happy Wednesday to everyone.12 -

Morning all
Looks to be another nice day here although its quite windy, I will put a wash on before I go to work, it can be hung out this evening for a while.
Off to work today and my least favourtie day
hopefully it wont be too bad, and the day does pass quickly which is something.
Salmon for dinner tonight with a few left over prawns, I have a hankering for a (low fat) creamy corriander sauce with the fish and some pasta or rice and broccoli, will try and make the sauce tonight and see what happens !
Finally lost another 1lb this has taken a few weeks to come off so I am at 13lb now, I cant wait to get to a stone, it seems to have been a long time coming, 40 days till our holiday so hopefully I can lose a bit more before then.
I was sorry to hear Hester is feeling isolated, sending her lots of love xxx
Have good days all xxx10 -
Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc
DH left at 3am as he's going to a gig in Italy. It's not until Saturday but EJ cancelled his flight for tomorrow so (oh dear...) he's had to go a day earlier. I am WFH, DS2 has no exams today, so a quiet day in store. Will have DS2 do his washing. Dinner is sea bream and veg.
Glad you had a nice time away Scarlet - welcome back.
Hugs to Hester, if she's reading.
Glad the jacket fitted taff - love that you are getting goods back in kind.
Well done on the loss Ruby, I STS this week but need to lose some before our holiday in 17 days time!!!
Well done to youngest DGD TA - how exciting to be on pointes!
All this talk of shoes makes me wonder why I still own several pairs of heels when I know I'll not where them again. Must have a sort out!
Have a good day everyone and hugs to the poorlies.

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Another beautiful day in store. I love this weather and could happily live with it all year round. Sadly I think the sun is being replaced by rain at the weekend. I might get caught up on the neglected jobs when that arrives! I am permanently topping the bird bath up as it's in regular use through the dry spell. Even the magpies are using it and once they and the woodpigeons have finished splashing around in it it's empty again! I love watching them enjoying the bath!
DD finally heard from the insurers, 13 days after her car was picked up, confirming her car is a write off and beyond repair. He said she can expect the money in about a week's time. There's no rush for these things is there! Anyway she at least knows what she will be getting and can start scouring the garages for a replacement. She needs another 4 x 4 for all the hills round here, especially when it's snow and ice season!
The second dose of chemo seems to have affected BFF more than the first. She is feeling very tired all the time but, fortunately she says, not feeling ill with it as some people are. That may change but she is optimistic as always.
It's my fortnightly bus trip day today. Still only 2 of us but a different 2! The friend who was in Turkey is back but the other friend is now on holiday! It seems ages since we were the 3 Musketeers! We think it could be Skipton today as it promises to be a good day for ambling round the market. As long as our lunch and bottle of wine is on the agenda I'm not bothered where we end up!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and poorly loved ones. Izzy it's good to hear the new trainers are helping. The expense seems to be worth it. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -

Morning all; bright and very sunny here today, as it was yesterday.
Today we are at a Celebration of Life ceremony for a friend and have been asked to wear bright colours. It's slightly complicated by the fact that DH has a telephone appointment with a hospital Consultant in the time we would be travelling so I'm going to drive and we will go early so that we are parked up somewhere for his phone call. No guarantee it will come at the time stated though!
No real plans after that and will see how the day develops.
Good luck to everyone trying to lose weight. I find low carbing works for me but it's a mindset really and so easy to go wrong. I'm still not quite within a normal BMI so need to keep persevering.
Have a good day everyone.

Hello all, another sunny day today and even hotter it seems, then it all goes downhill 😕 There were no queues at the jab centre but they did check that Mr Fix It was eligible as " he looked too young" even though he was clutching his letter ! A chat with the Dr cleared up that he was immunocompromised and it was duly given. There will be just a bit of housework pottering for today and checking my food stores ready to do an online shop, I don't think I want too much, mainly f&v and salad stuff, but Mr Fix It couldn't face going into a shop. I did offer to let him sit in the car and even crack a window open while I went in, but he wasn't up for that 😂
This afternoon we will pick up the DGC from school, Mr Fix It will do one and I'll do the other then we'll meet up and go to DD's as SiL is in Manchester on a course. I shall go with DD to watch DGD while she has her horse riding lesson and later we'll all have tea together. Could be a salad, which is fine as DD has been dieting ready for her hols and she's lost 12lbs, meanwhile I've lost a measly 2lb 🤨
Scarlet glad you had a good holiday, nice to see you back !
Wicked Lady I hope the consultant phone call goes as expected. They've changed Mr Fix It's from morning or afternoon to an all day one now.
TA I hope the money goes in the bank asap, shame she has to look for another one though. I hope DD feels much better now after the accident.
Camelot Lovely to see the children flourish and leave the nest IYSWIM, I missed DGS's leaving do as we were in the middle of covid. Probably a good thing as I would have gone through umpteen tissues 😥
Gers enjoy your new cleaner and glad you realised it wasn't Thurs before you set off !
Right the dw has finished so I'd better shake myself and show willing.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.

Morning all, sunny! So I took advantage before it gets too hot and moved a couple of barrows of stone. I think a nap is on the cards thanks to sleep interrupted several times by rubbish cramp in my feet. The paint people didn't call yesterday so I didn't bother going out but they've sent a message this morning saying it's in. I've bought some tins of teal metal paint for the cancello in Italy which is currently a dirty brown colour. This means I'll do today what I was going to do yesterday. Yesterday I moved everything out of the jitchen and downstairs toilet, cleaned the floor, then sealed it again [ quarry tiles] , then moved everything back and did a bit of rearranging which took forever. Didn't have any eggs [ preferred breakfast is omlette with cottage cheese mixed in] so I've ended up with smoked mackerel and the remains fo the celeriac remoulade I made last night. So...paint, small shop for eggs and tomatoes, take the soft plastic in and then reclamation yard.Nanny, you make him sound like the house pet
TA, glad your DDs insurance came through, it's such a swizz though, you should be able to replace like with like. Hugs to your bff. Coxy, oh dear good? Scarlet, wb, glad you had a nice time
Ruby [et al] congrats on the weight losses! Gers, you need an all consuming hobby!
Hugs to the missing and anyone who fancies it...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi8
