3.68kwh cap on solar export with Tesla PW2?

We wonder if anyone can help with our query..we have just had 12 x 400w (4.8kwh) panels fitted with Solar Edge inverter capped at 3.68.
Our Tesla Powerwall battery is coming in August as there are delays in supply chain so at the moment we are supplying lots of free electric to the grid:(

The DNO told me the battery is approved at 5kwh.
So will we be able to export more than 3.68kwh (up to 5kWh?) once Battery is installed? If so will we need a larger capacity Solar Edge inverter to do that?
Thanks in advance

Anything your inverter feeds will be limited to 3.68kW yes, so any solar you want to export will be at a max of 3.68
Do you want to export from your Tesla also? That'll be A.C. coupled with it's own inverter so I'm sure people will be able to advise on that one, if you don't have permission to from the DNO then it won't matter you'll be fixed at 3.68 anyway.4.3kwp JA panels, Huawei 3.68kw Hybrid inverter, Huawei 10kw Lunar 2000 battery, Myenergi eddi, South facing array with a 15 degree roof pitch, winter shade.0 -
Hi Ecoscruples thanks for reply. yes we will be exporting fromTesla battery. As that’s got approval for 5kwh we wondered if that means we can export up to 5kwh..?0

You should be able to export 5kW then unless I'm missing something.
My battery is DC coupled so I'm limited to the Hybrid inverter output.4.3kwp JA panels, Huawei 3.68kw Hybrid inverter, Huawei 10kw Lunar 2000 battery, Myenergi eddi, South facing array with a 15 degree roof pitch, winter shade.1 -
The solar would be classed as a separate generator and battery/Tesla powerwall a separate generator.
In theory 3.68+ 5kw. Unless DNO has put a limit on total export at 5kw (it should be clearly mentioned in the application to DNO).
I suspect DNO were not aware about your solar install.“Don't raise your voice, improve your argument." - Desmond Tutu

Thanks for your thoughts👍 I think you’re right. DNO has listed PW2 at 5kw and PV at 3.68 separately. No mention of a cap. The PV was on the application at the same time so they should know. Fingers crossed we can send up to 8.68kwh when we finally get our PW in August then. We are sending a heck of a LOT of free energy to grid right now😥!1

@Chezaban it is painful. I'm sitting at 1.2MW export and not registered for SEG“Don't raise your voice, improve your argument." - Desmond Tutu
