Hi I've been given a price for a solar array and battery. It is from a local company I've heard alot of positive things about but it feels a bit higher than I was expecting.

It does seem a bit high, but so is demand currently.
The basic calc of £1k per kW of solar and then 1k for battery plus £500 per kW of battery used to give you a datum, but I'm not so sure now.
Maybe someone will comment on their quote for a Solaredge systemRsoot82 said:Hi I've been given a price for a solar array and battery. It is from a local company I've heard alot of positive things about but it feels a bit higher than I was expecting.

I guess the 12 modules are optimisers as I don't believe solar Edge make panels? Battery is the best part of £60004.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0

- 4.8kWp solar PV: £6k
- 10kWh battery: £6k
- All the SolarEdge gubbins: £2k(?)
I still only get to £14k, not £16650.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.

Sounds really expensive but I don't know how top end solaredge are?
Is that the only quote you have?
When I got my quotes I went for a veriaty of instsllers from high end to one man bands.
You should definately get a min of 3 quotes though.4.3kwp JA panels, Huawei 3.68kw Hybrid inverter, Huawei 10kw Lunar 2000 battery, Myenergi eddi, South facing array with a 15 degree roof pitch, winter shade.0 -
It's tough to even get quotes atm, the companies are all booked up for the rest of the year and aren't looking for more business. I struggled in January and I can imagine it's much worse now.Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Solar PV 5.25kWp SW facing (14 x 375) Lux 3.6kw hybrid inverter installed Mar 22 and 9.6kw Pylontech battery
Daikin 8kW ASHP installed Jan 25

Yeah it's taken about 3 months to get this quote waiting on another one problem is by the time I get that one this one won't be valid lol.
At the end of the day I know how busy these guys are so they don't really need to be competitive.0 -
Solaredge kit always seems more expensive than others, and a lot of the installers who quoted me would be pushing that or the givenergy stuff (I didn't go with either).
The solar edge quotes were always 1.5k to 2k more than other brands, it has a good monitoring portal but i didnt want to pay extra for the bells and whistles...0 -
I'm having a Solaredge battery installed in a month or so my installer told me the first batch arriving in July were all sold and the next batch were scheduled for October and the price had gone up £1000 . So in this current climate your quote is probably not OTT but I would check when the install date would be.
Solaredge do do panels 360w I think (no idea who actually makes the panel as I'm guessing they are rebadged) so the system would be 4.3kw if using those.8kw system spread over 6 roofs , surrounded by trees and in a valley.0
