Birmingham Midshire to Bank of Scotland

Currently with BM and asked them had they a fixed rate deal I could change to.  They transferred me to Bank Of Scorland and spoke to them. Apparently I was sent a letter to ask did I want to change products before  as they are trying to get customer off BM mortages to BOS ( if I got a letter from BOS about mortgage probally binned it thinking it was junk )

Has anyone dont this switch ? Was it straightforward?  I did tell them in a DMP but they said should not be an issue as just a rate change .

Advisor said as a rate switch no survey and all easy enough as we are not extending term ( less than 3 years ) and no additional borrowing. We have 80k equity so no real risk and never missed a mortgage payment.
