Hi all, i have a CCJ and a Bankruptcy on my credit file, both due off this year. The CCJ has now come off however seems to have made absolutely zero difference to my credit score, i appreciate credit scores are largely irrelevant and a construction of the agencies but still i was hoping for a minor improvement. Obviously the bankruptcy is the big one (due off in October) but i had hoped with the CCJ now gone a few more options re loans/mortgages might open up, in fact it seems to have got a bit worse
and my Experian ‘score’ even went down a bit!!
Yours very confused!

Your scores will generally drop with any change, whether that change is good or bad. CRAs think that all change is bad, while lenders think that only bad change is bad, ad that good change is good.
But the drop in your score isn't a problem - no one ever sees it but you and it has no correlation to your credit worthiness. Lenders will only ever look at your credit files, not the pretend scores and obviously they will happier not to see the CCJ, even if it annoyed Experian.0 -
yes i appreciate the scores are largely a nonsense but i don’t seem to be getting any better loan options- not that i’m desperate to borrow but i do like checking out whats out there as an indicator of current creditworthiness…i guess it all revolves around the bankruptcy - other than that my file appears to be squeaky clean0

The bankruptcy is obviously the big issue - there isn't really any such thing as a 'squeaky clean file other than a bankruptcy'. It's a bit like having an immaculate home apart from the tree that's just fallen through your roof and is now in your living room.2

i sort of understand that! what i mean is all
payments are up to date (and no missed payments) and there aren’t any obvious negatives.. other than the very obvious one!0 -
While the bankruptcy is still there no changes will happen. You will see a massive improvement when it goes0
