Hi, just asking for a friend, no recorded on credit file for a spent minor bankruptcy order.  Would this still need declaring if asked in the last 10 years have you ever been made bankrupt?

The question posed is “in the last ten years have you ever been made bankrupt”

so I would think the answer is no.

if the question posed “in the last twenty years have you ever been made bankrupt”, I’m thinking you would say yes - sixteen years ago.

Thank you for your reply, My sentiments exactly if asked always tell the truth.  If it states ''Have you ever been made bankrupt the answer would be yes    TVM

You answer the question as asked. If it stipulates a timeframe then that is what applies.

That being said, a couple of things:
    1) Some lenders keep internal records going back a while. If they were involved in the bankruptcy they may still know about it and hold a grudge.
    2) You cant have a minor or major bankruptcy. You either have been or have now.

But at the very least it sounds like your friend fits criteria.
