Where can I find a Pensions specialist?

We need to find someone to give us good advice with regard to our pensions.  My husband is from New Zealand so will need someone who can find out what happens with an overseas pension as well.  I haven’t a clue where to start looking and I am terrified of being scammed.

Do you really need a pensions specialist? A good IFA should be able to assist unless there is something really unusual about your situation.

An adviser who is FCA regulated is essential. Start here: https://www.fca.org.uk/consumers (plenty of links which may be helpful) and here https://www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en

As for the NZ pension - why can't your husband find out for himself by asking his NZ pension provider? Or doing a bit of basic googling should help - e.g. see https://www.workandincome.govt.nz/pensions/travelling-or-moving/social-security-agreements/united-kingdom.html
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

You could try (at least for UK pensions)

    https://adviserbook.co.uk/

ticking "confirmed independent" and any other specialisms required.

Is this a private or occupational pension?  The provider/administrator is aware that your husband now lives in the UK?

Has your husband approached the provider/administrator about drawing the pension?

Does he have any UK state pension?

    Have you?

Have you checked state pension forecasts?
