Asda home delivery

I have been getting a shop ready to be delivered by Asda.  On putting a tin of Heinz soup into my trolley I noticed that the price of it is £1.20.  The price in store is 90p.  I contacted Asda and was told that online costs can be different to store prices.   I have never known this before for an Asda shop so it is something to watch out for in the future.

It's a long time since I shopped in store so not able to compare prices as you have, however i jsut go by price availble on line and if i consider it reasonable then I buy it

In Asda defence, I see if you buy the multi packs of Heinz soups on line the price drops to approx 67p per tin, is it same drop in store I wonder?

We do Tesco since Covid and now do odds and ends at our reg place, Morrison, Iceland, Wilko etc etc, something to lookout for, However, in the schme of things, tesco Club Card prices is good and though more expensive per 100 pound shop when compared with Asda, we are happy. One of our children lives on our road and since Covid they use Asda, I will tell them.

    It’s nothing new,

sometimes things are on offer online and not in store, also stores have different prices according to areas, basically if you are happy with the price then that’s cool and if not you can go in store to see if it differs. X

I think it’s the same for all supermarkets not just Asda. Same that things can be on offer online but not instore.

As sarah1972 says, it's not just Asda.  I've noticed the same thing with Sainsbury's - and I don't mean items which are "on offer".
The only place you won't find this problem is with Ocado as they do not have conventional supermarkets.  However, they are one of the more expensive online supermarkets.  Waitrose, which is the most expensive, is the only one that costs more.

Thanks, I was not aware of that.

IMHO, we've seen nothing yet as I suspect massive increases on food/gas/elec/petro and diesel prices. Everything is massively going up partly due to fuel cost rises and Covid and Ukraine I guess.

Thankfully we have a few pennies saved up I feel for those working and just making ends meet and the same with those on benefits.

Btw, we are also lucky we mass buy stuff if on at a good price and have the money and space but I appreciate not everyone can do that.

Mortgages are rocketing and those with fixed terms coming to an end next couple of years will be hit hard.

We can all save money, (though I am not trying to save money TBH) every morning 7 days a week, one Weetabix from one of the biggest boxes of 72 and a little skimmed milk not heated in the summer and lightly heated in cold weather is costing me about 5p for breakfast and I guess 8p for cuppa. Every few weeks I do porrige, Tesco brand, whole oats I think we cook it Saturday, have a bit then the other 6 days, inc gas I think its about 8p a shot.

I do make up for the above later with cakes, full fried, takeaways Fridays, pizza home heated and meals - jsut an idea to save money.

btw, having a cuppa, had two doughnuts and just before that a late lunch home chips, sirlion steak and a bit of greens and carrots ready-mixed bag.

dinner on sats is just snacks ie sandwiches, uppa, cake and or busicits

supper, drinks, pizza with chicken sides, garlic bread etc etc.

Btw - we cook mash and use it over the week, saves money.

    Correction, 19 June 2022:

With regard to Ocado I forgot that Ocado now sell Marks & Spencers goods so there may be price increases there.

Good to know this. I wasn't aware of it either but it sort of makes sense. Prices in Tesco Express and Sainsbury's Local tends to be much higher on some products that in Tesco and Sainsbury's supermarkets.
